Warum kann ich nicht mehr im Format U3D speichern?

Laut S-015659 war Speichern im U3D (Universal 3D: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_3D ) Format bis SOLIDWORKS 2014 möglich.
Danach wurde es entfernt, da es wohl nicht mit 64Bit kompatibel ist und Instabilitäten im System verursachte:

You can save part and assembly documents as U3D with SOLIDWORKS 2007 to 2014. As of SOLIDWORKS 2015, you cannot save a model as Universal 3D file format. The File > Save as type ‘Universal 3D (*.u3d)’ is removed.

The U3D file format and the PRC 3D file format are the two systems used in the creation of 3D PDF documents. The U3D system, which is an old 32-bit only system, was superseded by the PRC system several years ago. In SOLIDWORKS, the U3D system was prone to out-of-memory errors and instability. As a result, and since SOLIDWORKS 2015 is a 64-bit only application, the U3D system has been removed.

Workaround:
Wenn Sie SOLDIWORKS Composer im Hause haben, können Sie diesen zum Speichern von U3D Dateien verwenden.
Klicken Sie dort auf Datei / Veröffentlichen / PDF:
